BIOGRAPHY
Julia Raczkowski (9) has discovered the joy of singing while playing with her older sister Ela, and she has quickly become an ambitious student of classical voice technique, under the guidance of Soprano Marianna Benedict, achieving the Outstanding score at Level 4 NYSSMA within her first year of training. Julia has also been singing with the Saint Gerard Majella Children’s Choir since she was six years old.
In 2012 – 2014 Julia performed in a series of concerts at the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York, in the “Master and Student” program for young musicians. Singing solos and duets with her sister, Julia performed at many concerts and fundraising events in New York and on Long Island since 2012, such as the concert to help raise funds for a surgery that would save eyesight of a boy her own age, which she is particularly proud of.
In 2013 she was featured at a concert of a known jazz musician – Krzysztof Medyna on Long Island, singing Gershwin’s “Summertime” as a duet with her sister. In 2014 Julia performed at a concert in honor of Pope John Paul II in New York, and she was also invited to sing at an event organized by Nina Polan’s Polish Theater Institute in the U.S.
Julia is thrilled to have an opportunity to share her joy of music with the audience of the Amadeus Opera!
